Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or 2-Step Verification is an authentication system that requires a user to provide two or more credentials to log in to a website, such as the Wildland Fire Learning Portal.
Why is it Important?
Multi-factor authentication increases security to prevent unauthorized persons from logging in to Users' accounts.
The Wildland Fire Learning Portal will be implementing multi-factor authentication the week of October 20, 2025.
Each user will be required to enter their username and password in the Learning Portal login page, access the email address associated with their account, and use the information in the verification email sent to that email address to log in to their account on the Wildland Fire Learning Portal.
Step-by-Step Tutorial:
1) Go to the Wildland Fire Learning Portal Login Page.
2) Enter your username and password, then click "Log in".
The page will refresh. The "2-step verification" notification will appear informing you that a 6-digit code has been emailed to the email address associated with your account.
The code will be valid for 10 minutes.
3) Log in to the email specified in the 2-step verification notification.
4) Open the verification email sent from noreply@wildlandfirelearningportal.net titled "Here's your verification code".
If the email is not in your inbox, check your junk mail and/or spam folder.
5) Follow the instructions in the verification email to complete the 2-step verification process by doing one of the following:
a) Click on "verification link".
b) Enter the code located in the verification email into the "2-step verification" notification text box directly underneath "Enter code".
5) The page will reload. You will now be logged in to the Wildland Fire Learning Portal.
