Attached to this article is a DRAFT Editing Trainer Guide, created by our contractor, Moodle US.
Below are a few differences between our previous Totara site and our current Moodle Workplace site worth highlighting:
- Page 11 - Enrolled users secondary menu: This is where you will access enrollment methods, groups, and permissions.
- Page 13 - Course-Level Permissions: Editing trainers had access to these in the Totara site, but they weren't often changed from the default settings. We strongly advise that you thoroughly test, with the learner role, any permission changes you select within your course. Course-level permission changes are limited to the course in which they are changed.
- Page 21 - There are more activity completion options available in the new site than there were in the Totara site. If you find that an activity completion setting in a course that was migrated does not accurately represent how it was set in Totara, especially if you are working in a course that had existing learner enrollments or completions at the time of migration, please notify the WFLP team and don't attempt to change these settings on your own. Moodle Workplace doesn't currently offer editing trainers the option to unlock completion settings without deleting previous completions, and changing settings hastily could result in inaccurate completion data.
- Page 29 - Course completion is now found under the More tab. This is where you will establish the overall completion criteria for a course. Also under the More tab, Reports includes access to manual activity completion.
- Content change notifications: In the settings for each activity or resource, there's now a box you can check to trigger a content change notification.
- Bulk actions, found next to your course title, can be used to quickly hide, duplicate, move, or delete multiple activities or resources at once.
- Course reuse options, including import, backup, restore, and reset, are available in the Course Reuse area, under the More tab.
For those ready to further their training in Moodle, Moodle Academy offers an excellent Moodle Educator learning pathway, with short, manageable courses.
